Malcolm X vs. Mike Rose

Malcolm X and Mike Rose's paper were different because Malcolm was offered no education and sought out learning to read all by himself and teaching himself. All he had was a dictionary and a notepad with pencils. It really shows that if you want to do something bad enough, you have the power to do it no matter what the circumstances. He was in jail so I think that says a lot. After being in jail and seeing that he wanted to learn instead of going down the road he had been, he decided on learning and becoming a positive person in life. Mike Rose was a smart guy who was placed in a lower class than he should have been; in which crippled his education. He had bad teachers that didn't care about teaching kids who were not very smart. They also hit the kids which I found to be awful! Not only were they bad teachers, but they were abusive. Though in the end he did get into a college and found someone who inspired him. They both were in hard educational situations that they overcame. In the end I found these inspiring and they made me more grateful in my life, education and opportunities I have.
