What makes a good teacher

I think a good teacher recognizes every students strengths. (if they are given the opportunity) They should be a good happy and positive role model for the kids and lets them explore their creativity so they can get to know their strengths and the things they love. I have honestly forgotten the things I used to love as a kid. If their is a student who seems lost or not interested. I think its important to figure out why they are lost or not interested and see if the child can find their inner spark. Just showing someone that you care and what they feel and what they want to do is important; that is huge and can help open them up to maybe find things out that they didn't know about themselves.
After reading Marie F Hassett's What makes a good teacher I still have the same opinion but it did make me think of what I liked about the teachers that I most enjoyed growing up. I remember them being warm and excited about what they were teaching. Which made me want to learn about it and made it fun for me. They did get to know me and let me know that they cared about my success as a student. And I feeling like they were on my side gave me a self esteem boost that I needed.

Notes from Robinsons video:

Nobody has a clue of the future so how do we know what to teach?

Creativity is as important as literacy

Kids take a chance, if they don’t know they’ll go. By the time their adults they become afraid of taking chances. They are afraid of making mistakes.

If we don’t grow into creativity we grow out of it.

Arts are on the bottom of education everywhere on earth.

University professors are what the education system breed.

Kids are not encouraged to become an artist or musicians, because they say they will not get a job doing it.

Education needs to be diverse and dynamic.
